Decorative geese can share a height and still have different necks, bodies, bases, and poses. Four quick measurements make choosing the next look much easier.
Measure the goose—not the old outfit.
Before you measure
Set up your fitting room
Use the goose, base, and posture that will actually wear the outfit. Small differences in pose can change the fit.

Four measurements, one better fit
Follow the tape
Keep the tape comfortably close to the statue. Do not pull it tight or add extra room unless the product listing tells you to.
Total height
Measure from the bottom of the feet or base to the highest point of the head.
Why it matters: “23-inch” is a useful starting label, not a guarantee that every body shape is identical.
Neck circumference
Measure around the widest point that a collar or garment opening must pass.
Fit check: The opening should fasten without pulling and slide into place without force.
Body circumference
Measure around the fullest part of the body, including the wings when the outfit will cover them.
Stay level: Keep the tape horizontal all the way around instead of letting it dip under the body.
Back length
For dresses, coats, capes, and full-body costumes, measure from the base of the neck to the desired hem.
Use the side view: Follow the body’s natural line instead of measuring straight through the air.
The final check
Match all four numbers
Use the product-specific measurements and fit notes as the final reference. An outfit should have enough room for its closure to fasten without pulling, twisting, or pressing against the statue.
